 A navigator and very famous explorer. 
(Virtual Discoverer of South Australia).
Pedestal of Murray Bridge red granite.

Lord Florey 

Florey was jointly awarded the Nobel Prize in 1945.
His research showed the curative properties of penicillin. 

Presented by John Dowie. 
Unveiled by the
Right Honourable the Lord Mayor (Robert E Porter, Esq., 25th June 1969).

Adelaide's very first statue.

A copy in Carrara marble of Canova's Statue. 
Pedestal of Sicilian and Kapunda marble. 
Executed
by Fraser & Draysey. 
Presented by Mr W A Horn. 
Unveiled 3rd September
1892, by His Worship the Mayor F.W. Bullock, Esq.

You are now just about up to King William Street.
Continue on and you will find the gates to Government House, and  portrait busts of Sir Mark Oliphant, by John Dowie, and The Honourable Sir Mellis Napier, also by John Dowie.There is also a portrait bust of Mary Lee and a large statue of a seated Dame Roma Mitchell.
